Overview:
This is a new role for an experienced prototype build technician to support the build and assembly of complex prototype electric motors for the EV industry.
Applicants will need good practical skills and ideally experience of complex engineered products involving numerous electromechanical components and assemblies
The role will involve working in the prototype facility supporting the build, assembly and test of prototype electric motors for electric vehicles
The ideal candidate would be a versatile Build Technician / Assembly Technician / Prototype Technician with demonstrable practical electromechanical skills.
Experience of building and assembling motors would be preferred but generally other precision electromechanical assemblies would be fine.
Beneficial skills and experience:
Applicants will need good levels of dexterity and have a versatile range of practical skills
Practical electromechanical, build and assembly skills working on complex electromechanical systems, high precision mechanisms, wiring harness etc (e.g., electric motors, variable speed drives, gearboxes, transmissions, pneumatic / hydraulic systems, robotics, test equipment, automated test systems / machines.)
A methodical approach to tasks, with a good eye for detail
The ability to understand and work from engineering drawings
Be a good problem solver, with the ability to proactively provide alternative solutions
Flexibility to adapt to different tasks and problems seamlessly
A recognised qualification, such as an HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering, would be beneficial but is not essential.
Soldering and knowledge of electrical component integration and testing
